Hola!

6:30 AM First one up for porridge again, why? Not really sure.

The walk to school today was accompanied by what sounded like continuous rolling thunder, but was one of the volcanoes erupting.  Don't worry, the valley beneath will burn and drown in hot red lava wayyy before me.

We decided to divide the kinder class in two groups today.  I got the littlest ninos and we played football (soccer) for an hour.  I´m not too bad for a white girl.  After comida we went inside to learn our ABC´s and 1,2,3´s......I can´t help but feel like Buddy, the Elf, in my tiny chair, next to tiny people, learning the Spanish Alfabeto and clapping and singing to songs I have no idea the meaning of.

After lunch, Elly (the Korean volunteer) and I went into Pelileo (20 cent bus ride) to buy what we needed to make dinner.  The volunteers do a communal dinner M-Th, we each put in a dollar a day.  It was our day and if you know me, you know, I do NOT cook (even for myself). So cooking for 10 starving people!!! YIKES!

Later that night.....

Two lessons learned.
1. When there is someone lactose intolerant, it is not a good idea to make pasta with a milk sauce.
and
2. Glass breaks when heated and no one wants glass shards in their chocolate dessert, no one.

HOWEVER, everyone seemed to make it through the night just fine and all the guys were super gracious and helped with clean-up and all.....I am so glad that's over with for the week.

Today had a few challenges, but so far my best day yet! I am so happy to be here and excited for tomorrow's adventure......from what I understood I am meeting one of the teachers after school, she is taking me to her house to dress for a fiesta in the next town over. I am still not really sure what the occasion is but excited to party with the locals:-)
