The road to Salasaca.......Panamerican highway

I managed to buy a bus ticket to Banos for $3.60, where the lady at the ticket counter gestured for me to buckle up my pack and zip my coat......scary.  I decided to spend my 1.5 hr wait right in front of the policia station.
At 12:30 I hopped on the bus and met two Wisconsin girls (we are easy to identify with our North Face packs and fancy hiking boots).  They had just left Chile and were headed to Banos to work on a farm for 2 weeks.  The bus was pretty empty but we still made lots of stops where the local vendors would jump on and walk up and down the aisle selling, fruit, chips, comics, gum, live chickens and making what seemed to be a speech about supporting their families, before they jumped off the moving bus back onto the street.

About 3 hours later the bus pulled over and it was my stop, Salasaca!  I learned the hard way, slippers are no bueno for the bus.  I fell flat on my butt exiting the bus, welcome home!
