I would not be where I am today without my new BFF, the sleeping bag.
Arrived in Chile about 4 in the morning and I was finally that person, zipped up tightly in my sleeping bag, tangled up in everything I own (its a hi-tech security technique), behind a baracade of luggage carts and three set waiting room chairs for a little siesta, before the city buses started running. Pretty convenient bus system they seem to have but at a pretty high price 30 min ride in Ecuador/Peru=.50 and here it cost me $2.50! I found my way to Barrio Brazil and La Casa Rojo. On my way I was asked to take a picture with some peruvian tourist - I just don't get it - but I'm now regrettiing giving the peace sign. And I think I might have asked a detainee on work release for directions in one of the city parks, he was kinda helpful but super nice....there I go using super again.
According to my Salasacan roommate from England, Americans use the word super WAY too much and are apparently obsessed with dating only smart guys. He would probably say he was takin the piss in this post or something Super obnoxious like that LOL. Anyway, about this red hostal, I found it through a recommendation of a friend of a friend but I'm not so sure about it. Its this Huge old converted mansion with a pool and bar but i have yet to see a girl! There's old and young men sleeping on all the couches and walking around in their towels, one even walked out of the restroom (the one with a picture of a GIRL on the door!), while I was washing my face. I have a few hours til I get a bed so I'll give it a little more time.
A few hours later......
Got a little more sleeping bag time in the lobby and explored the BIG city a bit - by that I mean I was lost for about three hours. But some guy on the street called me barbie gringa, so I can die happy now. And now it's time for Kenneth (friend from Houston) to arrive from the States!
