Look who I found in Peru!

I finally had that "Where the F*** am I, and how the F**** am I going to get out of this alive feeling".  I arrived in Lima, Peru around midnight (1st mistake) but had prearranged for a ride to my hostel.  The two guys that picked me up (2nd mistake) had some car trouble and so i spent about half an hour in the back of this car in the middle of the Lima ghetto watching them argue about the car overheating.  

We finally were back on our way headed for the hostel (I hoped).  Once inside, what looked like someones living room, they immediately asked for my passport, which i couldn't find for a while.  And one of the guys responds "oh you lost your wallet?" (in a very creepy, I stole your wallet kinda way) 

So to recap, its the middle of the night, I am exhausted, I have NO IDEA where I am, there are three guys now and me in what looks like someones house.  One of the guys takes me up like four flights of stairs, so much for the house more like an old apartment building and into my room.  I lock the door, move one of the sets of bunkbeds in front of the door and tried to get a few hours of sleep.

I ended up waking up way before my alarm and packed my stuff and headed downstairs to wait for my ride to the Lima airport.  While I am waiting, one of the guys from the night before comes down and we get to talking Spanglish.  Turns out he may have been a little drunk last night, but seems to actually be a really nice guy and super friendly-if I had stayed longer I might had even been able to help him with his fear of swimming:-(

Made it to the airport and then look who I ran into,  The Walter Brothers!!!!  So good to see some fimiliar faces!

        

Spent New Years in Cusco, Peru, with the Jake, Ryan, Mom and Dad . AMAZING. Can't think of a better place or people to bring in the new year with (except my little brother).

Leaving for a 5day/4 night hike on the Inca Trail, destination MACHU PICCHU!!! I hope I survive!!
