I should have been born a Galapaguena

Arrived at the Cusco airport around 4 AM for my 6 AM flight. Too bad the airport didn't open til 5:30, I ended up sitting outside the gate with a bunch of wild dogs till the employees arrived, just to discover there was no 6 AM flight to Guayaquil.  Luckily, I was able to hop on an 8 o'clock flight and was headed for the coast!

A day later I am stepping off the plane into pure paradise, Baltra Island in the Galapagos!!! Best $150 I have ever spent!  Took a quick ferry to the next island and lucked out and was able to hitch a ride in the back of a truck (I have definitely been on the outside of trucks way more than the inside since traveling) but it was cheap and probably the best view for the half hour ride through the terrain and into Puerto Ayoro (the biggest town) on the Island of Santa Cruz.

Spent the first couple hours searching for a cheap hostel that didn't seem to exist.  Honestly, I had given up, thrown my bags on the side of the road and was sitting on them pouting like a baby, when some lady out of the blue approached me with "economical room?", um si, por favor!  She took me to a large room with shower curtains for window shades and a pipe coming out of the wall for a shower but the price was right, I had a balcony and view of the ocean, what more could a girl need in paradise.
